Crocs on the Rise
When you walk into LHS on a Thursday morning, you see the typical footwear: Converse, Nikes, Uggs, Vans, and Bean Boots. Then you see them, the perfect multi-hole versatile heaven for feet--Crocs. At first glance you see chunky rubber clogs, but when you look beyond the exterior you see love, soul and passion embedded into this iconic shoe. Some look like cartoon vomit, some are camo, others are plain. Some are densely populated with rubber fragments of memories: a Mickey Mouse from your trip to Disney, a Backyardigan from your favorite uncle Joe, a frog from your 7th grade camp counselor. Jibbitz are high-quality stylish accessories that are plugged into your Crocs’ holes and never fail to brighten your day.
You continue to stroll down the hallway on your way to your next class and something catches your eye. A fuchsia strap on a tangerine Croc. You’re paralyzed by the swapped strap, but then you notice that the strap is pulled back, instead of in the front. Something is different about this one, you can tell this girl is ready to take on the world.
Crocs, a shoe once worn by millennials in their toddler years, are making a comeback and are sweeping the nation by force. Mainly seen among athletes, Crocs come in a variety of colors, and are the perfect choice for a shoe to slip on after a tough game. You can even buy yourself a spiffy pair of fur-lined crocs to keep your toes nice and snuggly! Not only do they complement every outfit, but they are also waterproof and, in our opinion, quite possibly the best conversation starter. At family events, your team’s pasta party, and even the grocery store, people will be asking you about your statement shoe, and why, exactly, you chose to bling them out with so many Jibbitz.
The answer to the rise of Crocs is simple, Crocs are everything you need in a shoe and more! No wonder why they are so popular! Go buy a pair!
