LHS Yearbook Happenings

Edited by Nadia Dupuis and Lisa Hood

75 dollars? For a book? Ridiculous, right? Wrong.

You know it, you love it: the yearbook.

Who’s in charge? How do they make it? It’s time for the tell-all.

This year’s yearbook class is bigger than ever, with a whopping 20 students working together. Our first task as a class was to create a theme for the yearbook. Many ideas were given, from Mean Girls to Monopoly.

Responses varied across students. Some thought that Tiger-centric ideas were too cheesy. Some thought that the color scheme of Spotify was too ugly. Most people thought that a Mean Girls inspired “Burn Book” may be taken the wrong way.

After polling the students of LHS to understand what they wanted, the class then used those opinions to make an executive decision. The 2023-2024 LHS Yearbook: Tigers 2day, Tigers 4ever.

We, as a class, wanted the yearbook to encapsulate what makes Littleton High School special. Littleton is a strong community. Most people in our school have gone here for years, maybe even since kindergarten. At this point, being a Tiger is part of a Littletonian identity. We wanted to capture that and help everyone who buys the yearbook remember who they are always and 4ever: a Tiger.

Some ideas that immediately came to mind were spreads for family legacies at LHS, or maybe even interviewing people who are newer to Littleton to see how it differs from other towns. If you want to explain Littleton to someone, this year’s yearbook will be a perfect way to do so.

Next came senior and staff superlatives. With such a big and creative class we had the ability to come up with some never-done-before superlatives. For example, most likely to live the longest and most likely to get the teacher off topic. You may be wondering who won.

Well, you’ll have to buy a yearbook and see for yourself.

Speaking of new things and buying yearbooks, the yearbook class has its first-ever social media team.

After a long verification process, we were finally able to make some social media accounts for the yearbook. We have Tiktok and Instagram (usernames listed below). Immediately our Tiktok was a success. Thanks to a great blend of creative ideas, the LHS yearbook’s first two Tiktoks have over 1000 views each, and the Instagram has almost 100 followers. As we all work together to figure out the ropes of official school social media, we get to have fun and come together as a school as well. Students from all grades and even teachers have been interviewed, and the socials have been a great way to spread the word about exciting events and yearbook updates.

In addition to the social media group, our amazing advisor Mr. Orzech split up the rest of the students into groups as well. Every base is covered by a group of students committed to their job. In addition to marketing/social media, our groups include Sports, Fall Events, Senior Section, and Graphic Design. Every department is essential to the smooth operations of Yearbook class.

We can’t wait to keep creating Littleton’s best yearbook yet. While you’re waiting for its exciting release, make sure to follow the social media accounts, and, of course, go buy a yearbook using the link in our Instagram bio!
