Titanic: A Review

Titanic has been one of my all time favorite movies. Not because Leo DiCaprio stars in it (which is mainly the reason), but the overall plot is really good. I have watched Titanic at least 3 or 4 times and could definitely watch it again. This is a fictional movie based on a real historical event that happened on April 14-15, 1912, when the Titanic that was returning to America sank.

Most of you have probably watched this movie and know what happens. But for anyone who has not, basically there are two main characters named Jack and Rose who fall in love. Then Rose’s fiancé finds out she loves Jack and not him, so he gets mad and all that drama happens.

The Titanic hits an iceberg and then sinks causing almost everyone to die. Rose survives from floating on either a door from the ship or a piece of wood (not really said what it is), and Jack doesn’t. That's mostly it. Yes I know, the ending is really sad and I believe Jack could have survived if Rose just moved over a little. Anyways here are some fun facts about this movie that are really interesting:

  1. In the movie Jack Dawson isn’t real, but there was a J. Dawson aboard on the real ship.

  2. There were almost different actors who were going to play Jack and Rose

  3. Kate Winslet (Rose) got hypothermia after filming in the water

  4. During the dinner scene the actors were served real Beluga Caviar

  5. In some scenes they only had one shot to get it right

  6. The real Titanic hit the iceberg at 11:40 P.M. and sank at 2:20 A.M.
