The Pretty Girl On The SideWalk
by Brooklynn Lindsey
There she was again
The girl that walks right beside me
On the sidewalk, Down the street
She’s is a lot prettier than me
It never made sense that we look so different
She’s me
My shadow that haunts me like a ghost
Of the things I want or want to be
That girl next to me is so different than me
Her body doesn’t curve in weird areas
Or has extra fat in places that shouldn’t be there
She wears my clothes the way they’re supposed to be worn
I hate that pretty girl on the sidewalk
I hate her because she’s not me
