Disney Princess Data

Edited by Ella Byrne-Cabot

I asked 15 people which Disney Princess is their favorite and why. It’s hard to pick just one of the many Disney Princesses, so many of these answers required some deep thought. Here are the results:

(Snow White, Anna, Moana, Ariel, and Pocahontas were included as options but received 0 votes.)

In the end, Mulan and Rapunzel tied for first, with Elsa and Merida in second. Many princesses did not even receive one vote. The reasons I collected for Mulan being a favorite were that she was determined and trained herself. She worked hard, persevered, and was brave. Two participants said that she, “girl bossed up to the moon and back.” For Rapunzel, I gathered that she has a fun personality, and that many people wanted to be her when they were little and saw Tangled as a comfort movie. Someone also mentioned Rapunzel’s lizard friend, and that they want a lizard just like it. A participant’s favorite song is “I’ve Got a Dream.”

Voters in favor of Elsa said that she had no male counterpart, and that her powers were amazingly cool. Those in favor of Merida, including me, favor the red-head for her bravery and fighting spirit, and that she is the only princess without any male love interest in her story. The only other specific comment made about a princess was for Jasmine, “she has a pet tiger and a cool outfit.”
